The Wonders of Paris!

Today is 'Tourist day'! We're going to see the most iconic sights among France. We'll start by seeing the most famous of all: The Eiffel Tower. The construction itself was absolutely monstrous. To add to the madness, there were hundreds of people bother between the streets, the green spaces, and even the tower itself was not exempt. People could be seen crawling all over, trying to get the perfect picture. There were also an annoying amount of shady, cheap dealers every five feet and scam for every block corner. This was hard for me because I try to help people who don't have or those who lack the materials needed to support themselves, so seeing people that pose as though they are in need and refusing them or being rude enough to not even look at them is difficult. Even so, we continued on.

Next is the 'Louvre'. Its said to be so large that it would take at least a month to properly examine each piece of art within this enormous museum. It's most famous piece being 'The Mona Lisa'. It is also home to the 'Tuileries Garden' which happens to house the very famous 'Water Lilies' by Monet. Sadly due to the weather we did not go. It is said that there comes a point where the lighting strikes it just perfectly. Next on our power piece highlight tour we go on a quest to see 'The Thinker!' which even me, myself am guilty of posing as the thinker directly underneath. It was in the middle of a rather beautiful garden that was found in the mist of a beautiful palace that contained beautiful statues and rather clever hedge work. Again the weather wasn't all that appealing but it certainly spoke volumes. "To think is an appreciation of life" and so after viewing the thinker, we presumed it would only be fair to pay our respects to the deceased. To be specific, we had made our way to see Napoleons's tomb and may I say they certainly spared nothing in building such a gallant resting place. The building was guarded by soldiers, as was every monument we saw. Once inside we say the true size of the structure from the inside. We could see down a long corridor and at the end was a conclave structure that seemed to dig into the ground. Upon further inspection it could be seen that withing this space in the floor, there lied a coffin surrounded by candles and what seemed to be ivory pillars. Many people took what seemed to be endless pictures and if you weren't willing to shove a few people or share a few glares, then you may not have gotten the perfect selfie.

Last on our list was an assortment of churches and other religious constructs among France. Every other two blocks we seemed to find a rather Gothic styled cathedral, each owning their own share of history. We saw the most infamous 'Notre Dame' and to finish the night off we went to enjoy a nice boat cruise through the river that ran throughout the city. We got one more glimpse of as many monuments as we could see from that boat and each one looked as beautiful if not more so at night.
